Beau had all his cowboy gear piled in the middle of the living room floor. Mommy instructed him to put it away before going to meet Longslim and Squatty. Instead of doing as told, Beau snuck out of the house and ran down to the river where they were waiting. However, he was totally devastated to discover that they were not sympathetic at all and, in fact, refused to take him with them because he had not minded his Mommy. He pleaded with them to wait, promising that it would "just take a minute," and flew up the hill to complete the task. As he worked, he desperately hoped they would be there when he returned. He would rather help them catch bad men than anything he could think of. They waited, and Beau learned a valuable lesson - to always mind his Mommy.
